Items to Bring - Suggestions by our members
  1. Two Leashes, one for the releaser & one for the catcher
  2. Two People, One to release your dog and one to catch your dog.  If you don’t have anyone with you someone is aways willing to help.
  3. Water, lots of water!  For humans and dogs.  Don’t forget the water bowl.
  4. Crates or ex-pen if you aren’t going to crate out of your vehicle.
  5. Pop Up Tent, chairs, and other comforts.
  6. Battery power fans for your kennels.
  7. During warmer months an “Aluminet Shade Cloth” (you can search that on Amazon!) can cut the heat in your car. It also might help covering  your windows to keep your dog calmer in the car. 
  8. Dog treats and snacks for the humans too.
  9. First Aid kit.
  10. Poop bags!
Schedule of events

SCHEDULE VARY FROM EVENT TO EVENT Always consult the premium for the event you are attending.  Most events will run a run concurrent schedule (back to back runs allowed), some schedule by the hour while others might still do a morning/afternoon schedule.

Morning runs to follow 
LUNCH BREAK—Most take a lunch break
Afternoon runs to follow
ON SUNDAYs – Check the premium to see if they are ending earlier and some operators don’t do “Fun Runs” on Sundays. 

**ALWAYS CHECK THE PREMIUM TO SEE HOW THE CLUB OR LURE OPERATOR ARE RUNNING THE SCHEDULE.**

What to expect when you arrive

INSPECTION
Immediately following the close of entries, each dog will be inspected by the inspection committee for lameness, fitness to compete, and females in season. All dogs to be inspected must be presented without tape, bandages or wrapping/coverings of any kind (coats, blankets, etc). If, in the opinion of the inspection committee, any entry is found to be lame, unfit to compete or in season, they shall no be allowed to test.

 

ROLL CALL & PRE-TEST BRIEFING
All entrants will assemble in a designated location in order for the Filed Committee to confirm those entered in the test area are present. Entrants should respond with “Here” when they hear their dogs’ names called. At this time, test procedures will be explained and any questions answered.

 

RUNNING YOUR DOG
It is recommended that dogs be handled with a “slip-lead” that gives instantaneous freedom to the dog when the “Tallyho” (release) signal is called by the Huntsmaster. The Host Club will have slip leads for you to borrow, please ask.

Dogs may wear any collar except a choker collar, a collar with prongs or an electronic training collar. The collar must be snug to minimize the chances of getting hung up on something during the run. Owners should be aware that tags hanging from the collar could be required to be removed to help prevent them from being entangled on something during the run. Owners may use clips or rubber bands to hold their dog’s hair. The owner assumes responsibility for the safety of their dog regarding the dog’s collar and paraphernalia on the dog.

Head halters, such as the Gentle Leader or Halti, may be used on the grounds but must not be wornwhile running the course.
